Six Steps To Effective E-mail Marketing (online marketing)
By Jason Rusch
If you want an email marketing campaign to be successful, it should be designed well to have any effect. Unfortunately, more and more people are unlikely to open up e-mails from those people they do not know thanks to spammers. Those webmasters who are legitimately sending e-mails have to make them snazzy to get recipients’ attention. Webmasters must still do what they can to get their message across while making the e-mail stand out from spammers’ e-mails.
There are six tips you can utilize if you want to grab a potential consumer’s attention through e-mail marketing. Using these tips below can minimize the chances that your email will be filtered into the spam box or be deleted without being looked at.
Personalize It The difference between spammer e-mails and legitimate e-mails is that spammer e-mails are never personalized. If you want do e-mail marketing, make sure you address them by name. Readers will know that the e-mail being sent to their address was the one they asked for.
Specific Designs A way to ensure your e-mails are distinguishable from spammer e-mails is to design them like your website. If you have a logo, place it on top of every e-mail. The fonts and colors you use on the website should be uniformed on your e-mail. You can even take it a step further by using a layout similar to your website.
Same Design All The Time - When you are e-mailing folks, keep the same look every time. If you keep changing the look of your e-mail, it will look unprofessional and you will begin to lose your subscriber base. By using the same look, those subscribers will know that it’s your e-mail not a spammers.
Write Well Make sure the content you have is spelled correctly and that periods are added to the end of sentences. You also need to keep your readers entertained and motivated so they do not unsubscribe to your e-mails. If they are very interested in the e-mails, your subscriber base can grow larger by word of mouth.
Importance of Landing Pages Make sure the landing pages that your subscribers go to is pleasing to look at. They should also load fast. This goes for people who are on slower connections, too. These pages should not contain flashing graphics or large images.
Frequency of E-mails You’ll need to send out e-mails, usually once a month. If your business requires it, you may want to send them out more often. To get some ideas, subscribe to your competitors’ list.

Marketing By Email - Getting and Keeping Subscribers
By Jason Rusch
Remember, the only way e-mail marketing can work is if you have subscribers. If there is a minimal amount of people who get your e-mail, then the chances of your sales being strong is low. If you are looking to increase your subscriber base, you have two options.
- Keep e-mail sign up boxes on every web page.
If you want visitors to subscribe to your newsletter, you don’t want them to hunt for that e-mail sign up link. Place it on every single web page you have. If you fail to do this, they may not take the time to look for the link and you lose the business.
- Advertising special offers available only to newsletter subscribers.
What you offer as a special incentive depends on your business but makes sure visitors to your website know how to become a subscriber. The best place to put this data is next to the special offer advertisement.
Two Tips to Keep Subscribers
Many webmasters believe the hardest part of e-mail marketing is getting subscribers. However, the actual hardest part is keeping those subscribers. You can lose subscribers if your one e-mail is nothing more than just advertisement. You want to keep those e-mails entertaining. You don’t want them to unsubscribe to your advertisement or newsletter. By following the two guidelines below, you can not only get subscribers but keep them.
- Above all else, content is most important. Every e-mail you send out must have unique data inside of it. Make sure the content is related to the business of your site. Don’t go off subject or advertise for other businesses in your e-mail.
- Make sure the e-mail you sent cannot be considered complete advertisement. While you can include this, it should never be the primary part of your e-mail. In fact, advertisements should not take more than one-fourth of your e-mail.

Search Engine Marketing is Not a Quick Win
By Lee Roper
Search engine marketing is a term that is not very well understood. While a lot of businesses and individuals recognise the importance of online marketing and improving search engine rankings for their websites, most assume that search engine optimisation is a simple case of keyword loading and that search engine marketing is something that can be easily done and provide benefits overnight. This, however, is not the case.
Although there are certain techniques that may increase your ranking temporarily in the search engines quickly, online marketing involves so much more than this. Similar to traditional offline marketing, it is about improving the way your customers see your business, increasing the traffic to your website and raising your company’s online profile. All of this takes time and effort.
A comprehensive search engine marketing campaign will evolve over time and will grow as you gain a deeper understanding of the marketplace. Your online marketing plan will involve many interrelated areas such as search engine optimisation, pay-per-click advertising, paid placement, email marketing and much more, and you will typically need to work with a specialist in the field to get the job done properly.
Another important thing to bear in mind is that search engines are no longer as easy to fool as they were a few years ago. While some people still consider keyword loading as a valid SEO technique, they are soon shocked to discover that the search engines will now actually penalise you by reducing your websites rank or even banning you completely if it deems that you are trying to cheat your way up. This means that even more than ever, you should be careful what you do to promote your website.
While all of this may sound intimidating, a good individual search consultant or online marketing firm will relieve you of a lot of the stresses involved in promoting your company on the internet. They will work closely with you to gain an understanding of your company and your aims and then will utilise their knowledge of the search engines and the internet at large to raise awareness of your website and draw people to it. Some search consultants work at very competitive rates too, so it needn’t cost you an arm and a leg to promote your website.
As you are probably now starting to see, with so many things to think about when considering your online marketing plan and there are no quick fix solutions. Your activities online must be carefully thought through in order to maximise your website’s exposure in a positive way and the more time and effort you spend on the planning phase thinking things through, the more successful you will be long-term.
